Beschreibung
"Red Rock Canyon" is a powerful work that describes the breathtaking rock formations through music. Introduced with a short but powerful opening, it is followed by a choral melody, introduced by the oboe. In this way Janssens' attempts to show the beauty of a landscape. The work then develops into a heroic and film-like theme, after which the chorale melody returns in a grandiose way. Finally, "Red Rock Canyon" closes with a spectacular finale, where the themes return once more. In short, this is a fine concert piece that focuses on the enjoyment of playing and is an excellent way to open or close a concert!
