SAM'S DIXIE

Dixie is a style that finds its origins in the south of the USA. It is a combination of ragtime, blues and parade music that was often played by small ensembles, collectively improvising. The glory days of the dixie were the forties in the last century. “Sam’s Dixie” is written in this dixie style. However, in this composition there are no improvisations; all parts are written. From the beginning of the piece one can hear the typical dixie style. After a short intro the main theme is played. The characteristic rhythm will make the audience react immediately. The calm middle part will enable the band to repeat the intro, and the piece finishes with an incredible climax. A true showstopper!
