Fulvio Creux
After leaving high school, he went on to graduate from the Conservatories of Turin and Milan and continued his studies at the Wiener Mastercourses under C. Mackerras. He has directed more than 60 concerts with various orchestras. In 1982 he won the national competition to become Director of the “Banda della Guardia di Finanza”. As such, he directed more than 200 concerts and recorded a number of albums and radio and television programmes that were broadcast by the three RAI channels, Radio Switzerland, Radio Israel and Radio Vaticana. After resigning in 1992, he taught at the Conservatories in Bologna and Avellino (band instrumentation), at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese (three-year advanced course in band direction) and courses organised by FeBaTi in Lugano (History of band music). He is constantly invited to act as judge at the most important competitions and as “guest director” to direct the most important Italian bands. In 1999 and 2001 he was invited to hold courses, conferences and act as director at the American universities of Southern Mississippi and Georgia in Atlanta. As director of the “C. Cusopoli” ensemble in Monterubbiano, he worked in collaboration with soloists such as Steven Mead, Jacques Mauger and Patrick Sheridan. He holds practice sessions to prepare the “Orchestra di fiati” of the Unione Musicale Ciociara. He has many compositions, transcriptions, revisions and theoretic works to his name and has had articles published in magazines and journals. He often holds conferences and has worked as editor for programmes on the three RAI television channels and Radio Vaticana. He was art advisor for the national ANBIMA from 1982 to 1991 and edited the “Florilegio Italico” series for the Santabar-bara publishing house. In 1999 he won the national competition for a professorship in “band instrumentation” at Italian conservatories. In 1995 he won the national competition to become Director of the Banda dell’Esercito Italiano. He has directed this band since 1997.
