Giuliano Moser

Giuliano Moser was born in Trento in 1974. He first studied music at the Liceo Musicale di Trento, from which he graduated in 1993. He went on to graduate from the same Conservatory in horn in 1995 and then, aged just 23, in Band Instrumentation. In 2004 he obtained a degree in Major Field Band Conducting from the Brabants Conservatorium of the Fontys University of Professional Education in Tilburg (the Netherlands), where he was taught by Hardy Mertens. He worked with the Orchestra Filarmonica Trentina, specialising in horn with Michael Thomson, Froydis Ree Wekre, Nilo Caracristi, Giancarlo Parodi and Marco Pierobon. He founded the Leitget quartet, an ensemble that plays natural 18th century horns. He furthered his studies in band conduction and composition of original band music with Daniele Carnevali, Johan de Meij, Franco Cesarini, Felix Hauswirth, Jan Van Der Roost, Jo Conjaerts and Jan Cober. He is currently an arranger for several chamber music ensembles, for the Grande Banda Rappresentativa Federazione Corpi Bandistici del Trentino and for the Trentino Wind Band. He has conducted the Complesso Musicale di Mezzocorona since 1999. In 1997 he took part in the Balaton international music contest in Hungary with the Banda S. Valentino di Faver, where he came first in the specific category, and overall fourth. During the 1999-2000 season he conducted the Banda Rappresentativa Giovanile della Federazione Corpi Bandistici del Trentino at concerts in Italy and Germany. In recent years he has been a guest conductor and trainer with a number of bands, and held training and advanced courses for band conductors. He composes original band music and works with the Scomegna publishing house in Turin.
