Description
“Battle of the Dinosaurs” is a programmatic work thought of as a soundtrack for a spectacular movie about dinosaurs. The serenity of a scene of peaceful coexistence between reptiles is suddenly interrupted by one of these terrifying creatures’ attacks; the music describes the exciting phases of the struggle for survival, in which dinosaurs of land and sky are involved. To make the performance even more impressive, the composer specifically realized, through electronic modification of his own voice, fifteen audio tracks containing cries and roars that can be downloaded for free from the following link: audio tracks; these tracks can be played during the concert via computer or stereo system connected to two speakers positioned on opposite sides of the stage. In the score, in fact, there is also the part of the "Audio Tracks," containing instructions regarding the exact spots where each track should be inserted. "Battle of the Dinosaurs" will take performers and listeners into the fascinating "Mesozoic Era", an age range roughly between 250 and 65 million years ago, referred to by historians as the "Age of Reptiles," since the dinosaurs ruled supreme over all other species on the planet.
