Description
Solomeo, a subdivision of Corciano in Umbria, is a small ancient village with less than 500 inhabitants. Saved from abandonment by Brunello Cucinelli, a textile entrepreneur who decided to elect this village as the headquarters of his company and founded a trade school and a theater there (Cucinelli Theater), it has become an example of excellence worldwide.
This composition, commissioned by the “Filarmonica di Solomeo-Corciano” (Perugia), is divided into four contrasting movements.
It begins with an imaginary visit to the Cucinelli Theater, a place that expresses and values art and draws dignity from the beauty of the building itself and the landscape that surrounds it.
The second movement (Memories) represents the moment of reflection: time stops and we turn our gaze to the past.
A joyful dance (Popular Festival) follows and leads us into a lively and amusing environment. The composition ends with a short rhetorical and elegant march (Corteo).
