Giovanni Bruni

Born in 1982, he began his early musical studies at the Liceo Musicale in Trento, where he graduated in 2001. The following year, under the guidance of Maestro Pepito Ros, he obtained his diploma in saxophone. He later specialized in jazz with renowned musicians Mauro Negri, Achille Succi, Tino Tracanna, Paolo Fresu, and Robert Bonisolo.
In 2007, he earned a diploma in Composition and Instrumentation for Wind Band under Maestro Daniele Carnevali at the Conservatory of Trento. In 2012, he graduated with honors and distinction from the same conservatory with a Master’s degree in Instrumentation for Wind Band, focusing on composition, conducting, and instrumentation. He studied band composition and conducting with maestros Daniele Carnevali (Italy), Hardy Mertens (Netherlands), Marco Somadossi (Italy), Louis Buskens (Netherlands), Steven Melillo (USA), and many others. During a workshop with Maestro Fulvio Creux (Italy) in Rome, he conducted the Italian Army Band.
As a composer, he has won various composition competitions. His works are frequently chosen as required pieces in performance contests and are published by the Scomegna publishing house in Turin.
As a conductor, he has been awarded in several Italian competitions, such as the Flicorno d’Oro International Competition (Riva del Garda), the Bacchetta d’Oro (Fiuggi), Giovani in Concorso (Costa Volpino), and MusicUp (Udine).
