The Publishing House
Founded in 1974 by Roberto Villata and Gioachino Scomegna, the Publishing House was initially interested in didactic texts for Conservatories but, soon, it began working on band music which, in Italy, was not yet experiencing the musical evolution already underway. in the rest of Europe. Since 1978 Roberto Villata remains only at the helm of the Publishing House. The distribution in Italy of the most important European publishers is accompanied by the production of numerous works by young and promising Italian composers, making Scomegna the most important publishing house of band music in Italy in a few years. The best Italian composers of band music publish exclusively for Scomegna. Since the 1990s, it has also established itself on foreign markets, enjoying considerable success. Always attentive to technological innovations, Scomegna was one of the first publishing houses to present a site containing its own production, with plays and pdfs of the scores. The site was then expanded with the products of foreign publishers distributed and currently contains thousands of music tracks for Concert Bands.
