Antonio Rossi

Antonio Rossi, born in 1964, earned his Trumpet Diploma at the "C. Pollini" Conservatory, Padua and his Diploma in Strumentazione per Banda at the "F. A. Bonporti" Conservatory, Trento. Before deciding to devote himself exclusively to teaching, directing and composing, he had a performing career as a classical and jazz musician, collaborating with various ensembles in the Veneto region. From 1993 to 1996, he conducted the Banda di Pieve d'Alpago (BL) and, from 1995 to 2004, the Corpo Musicale di Cortina. With the latter, alongside the intense performing activity, he participated twice in the International Prize Competition "Flicorno d'Oro" and recorded three albums. As regards his academic activity, he was director and course coordinator at the Young Band in Cortina D'Ampezzo from 2010 to 2016. As a composer, he has won prizes in various national competitions and composed pieces on commission. Some of his compositions have been performed at national and international wind bands competitions.
