Filippo Ledda

He was born in Oristano in 1975. After earning his Maturità Magistrale diploma, he graduated in Trumpet and Music Education from the “G.P. da Palestrina” Conservatory in Cagliari. Particularly active in the field of education, he has taught in numerous music-oriented schools with a focus on band and choral instruction. He is a tenured teacher at a public primary school, where he has been experimenting for years with new methods and strategies for music literacy and developing ensemble music projects and workshops. He is deeply involved in training activities for ensembles, school orchestras, youth bands, and wind ensembles throughout Italy. He is frequently invited to serve as a judge in music performance competitions.
He studied conducting and orchestration for wind bands under the guidance of Lorenzo Pusceddu. His interest in composing original band music—especially for youth ensembles—has earned him national and international awards and recognition. His compositions are often selected as required pieces in important performance contests.
From 2002 to 2013, he conducted the Alerese J-Band Musical Association of Ales (OR); from 2008 to 2023, he was the artistic director of the band of the Circolo Musicale Parteollese in Dolianova (SU); and since 2009, he has led the Junior Band “G. Verdi” of Sinnai (CA). He is one of the founders of the musical project Sandalia Sonos, where he is involved both as conductor of the youth band and as a trainer in introductory ensemble music groups for younger children.
