3 EPISODI
Description
The title
This work is characterized by the presence of distinctly contrasting styles and extensive use of percussion (1st and 3rd movement). In the 2nd movement, on the other hand, the absence of percussion offers more freedom to the expressive quality of the other instrumental sections. When the piece is performed "blues" references alternate (1st episode, introduction - 3rd episode, ending), elements that are typical of the composer's style (1st episode, ms. 33), folk dances with irregular rhythmic patterns (3rd episode) and short lyrical digressions (3rd episode, ms. 178). Everything is embraced and blended by a thematic short exposure of 4 notes: Bb - Db - D - Eb, which opens and closes the composition.
