The Second Suite in F, written in 1911, is based on seven British folk themes distributed across the four movements of the composition. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Gustav Holst's birth (1874-1934), Lorenzo Pusceddu arranged it, aiming to make it playable even by smaller ensembles. The idea stems from the belief that pieces of this caliber can contribute to the growth of bands due to their significance in band repertoire history as well as their indisputable musical quality.
