L' ISOLA DEL VENTO

The piece, commissioned by the Associazione Euterpe Banda Musicale Villanova Monteleone (SS) on the occasion of its 40th anniversary (1984 - 2024), is structured in the classic A-B-A form. The outer sections are characterized by a lively and carefree atmosphere, with meter changes and explicit references to Sardinian dance. The contrasting central part is relaxed and melancholic. The composition aims to evoke Sardinia, its irresistible charm, and the wind, a constant and defining element of this wonderful Mediterranean island.
