Franco Arrigoni

Graduated in Trumpet and in Wind Band Instrumentation, he furthered his studies by attending several wind orchestra conducting workshops with internationally renowned teachers such as Angelo Bolciaghi, Thomas Briccetti, Fulvio Creux, and Thomas V. Fraschillo.

Since 1994, he has been the conductor of the “Civica Filarmonica” of Bellinzona (Switzerland), with which he has achieved several national and European awards.

Since 2024, he has been conducting the “BiBi Banda” of Bregnano (Co), carrying out musical projects that explore different genres.

He served as President of the Technical Commission of Fe.Ba.Co (Federation of Bands of Como) from 2000 to 2013 and was the permanent conductor of the “Fe.Ba.Co Youth Band” until 2014.

Franco Arrigoni has been composing and arranging music for wind orchestra since 1992.

With the piece “Tema e Fuga”, he was awarded the second prize (first not assigned) at the International Competition organized by the CMF (French Musical Confederation) in 2000.

With “New Overture for Band”, he won first prize at the ANBIMA National Competition 2020.

With “Variations on a Popular Theme”, he received a special mention at the International Band Composition Competition of Bertiolo (UD) in 2022.

In recent years, especially after meeting the Italian-American composer Luigi Zaninelli, he has also been exploring non-functional harmony. Works from this period include “Wind of Peace”, “Canticum”, and “Suite Brasileira”.

He has to his credit numerous compositions published by Scomegna, Robert Martin, Wicky Music, and Bronsheim Music, some of which have become compulsory pieces for national and international performance competitions.
