CRESCENDO
Description
The composition is divided into the classic ternary form A-B-A. The initial A section, after a brief introduction of the percussion, presents two contrasting themes: the first witty and joyful, the second more static and dry. A variety of instrumentation solutions make thematic ideas even more diverse. A short transition leads to the middle section of the piece (Allegro moderato), which, in addition to a slower tempo, offers a relaxed and expressive character while the lack of percussion highlights even more the difference from the previous section. A shortened reprise of the A section restates the two initial themes and then flows into a short final coda.
