Description
The title
In the summer of 1818 the Austrian composer Franz Schubert (1797-1828) was employed by Count Esterházy to teach music to his two daughters at their home in Hungary. To teach the two young countesses, Schubert composed a number of piano duets, including the Military Marches Op. 51, of which number 1 is the best known. Pusceddu has arranged a version for band that is suitable for all ensembles, without renouncing the use of specific timbres and styles.
