This Petite Suite brings together three pieces that reflect different facets of the musical personality of Erik Satie, one of the most original and innovative French composers of the early twentieth century.
The suite opens with Le Piccadilly (1904), a brilliant tribute to American ragtime, characterized by lively rhythms and an elegant, carefree atmosphere. It is followed by Valse-Ballet (1885), an early work of lyrical and refined character in which the grace of the waltz blends with the lightness of dance. The suite concludes with Allons-y Chochotte (1908), a witty musical miniature filled with irony, rhythmic surprises, and brilliant colors.
