Description
The curiosity of a child, his passion for nature, and the desire to learn are the peculiarities of young Gianpietro, known as Gian, the protagonist of "The King's Wood." The story takes place not far from home, where an old pine, damaged by the wind, the Crooked Pine, and a Dwarf Palm grow: an ideal place to experience wonderful adventures in contact with the forest inhabitants. A perfect ecosystem where Gian will meet the Lonely Cuckoo, with whom he will weave a magnificent duet thanks to the flute given to him by his grandfather Federico. The singing friend will tell him about a difficult past, and together they will find a way to imagine a better future. The path will lead the boy to meet the vain Hoopoe, with a strong personality, always concerned about increasing social media views but also mischievous, teasing him and making him very angry.
Later, the journey will lead him to meet the tireless Woodpecker, endowed with an extraordinary sense of rhythm, who will help Gian understand the importance of determination and duty, even if he proves to be a bit annoying to the other animals in the forest. The encounter with a cheerful Lark will help him on his journey just when the boy's energy begins to wane. The final encounter with King Wren will help the boy find his way again, thanks to his wise advice. A character loved and respected by his subjects, the birds of the forest, who understands Gian's sincerity and helps him reflect on the perfect balance of nature and how necessary it would be for humans to do the same.
"The King's Wood" is also a story of encounters and friendship that underscores the importance of respecting others for positive coexistence even in diversity.
