Michele Netti
Born in Augusta (1960), he studied at the Conservatories of Pesaro, Salerno and Bari, where he graduated in tuba, band instrumentation, composition, choral music and chorus direction. He specialised in band direction under the guidance of Jo Conjaerts and in orchestra direction at the Accademia Pescarese. He is conductor of the Wind band of Melilli and Canicattini Bagni and of the Accademia Musicale “Euterpe”. As winner of the national competition in 1994, he was appointed assistant director of the Italian Air Force Band. As conductor he has taken part in 27 national and international contests and can currently boast 19 first prizes to his name, winning special prizes as best conductor. He often sits on panels at band composition and performance competitions. With his bands, he recorded a lot of Cd of wind band music and his compositions are printed by a few music publishers. Since year 2000, he only write music for Scomegna Music Publisher.
