Angela Ciampani
Born in Città della Pieve (Perugia, Italy) in 1968, she began piano lessons at the age of four years. At eight years she discovered her love for the accordion with which she received first prize in prestigious national and international competitions.
She graduated with degrees in piano and accordion from the Centro Didattico Musicale in Rome, and she continued her studies and obtained a degree in piano performance from the Institute of Higher Education in the Arts "Giulio Briccialdi" of Terni under the guidance of Carlo Guaitoli. At the same institution she studied composition with Marco Gatti and is currently enrolled in the two-year orchestra conducting specialization course under the guidance of Fabio Maestri.
She specialized in conducting and instrumentation for band with Lorenzo Pusceddu and Carlo Pirola, and she has participated in conducting workshops with composers such as Marco Somadossi and Jacob De Haan.
Since 1994, Ciampani has conducted the Civic Wind Band of Monteleone d’Orvieto and, since 1998, the wind band of Città della Pieve, performing numerous concerts in Italy and abroad.
She is artistic director of the music school of Città della Pieve and music educator for kindergartens, as well as primary and secondary schools. Since 2014, she has conducted the orchestra of the High School "Italo Calvino" of Città della Pieve.
She is a member of the Regional Artistic Commission of the ANBIMA Umbria.
Her composition Cantico received an honorable mention at the National Competition for Wind Band Composition of Mugnano (Perugia) in June 2014.
