Flavio Vicentini
Born in Ala (Trento) in 1955, he graduated in trombone from the Trento Conservatory, where he also obtained his diploma in band instrumentation with Maestro Daniele Carnevali. As an instrumentalist he has played with the Brass Band and the Grande Banda Rappresentativa of the Association of Bands of the Province of Trento and currently plays the euphonium with the Trentino Wind Band. He has attended courses in band direction held by various maestros, including J. Coops, J. Cober, J. van der Roost and D. Carnevali. He has been director of the Mori-Brentonico social band (Trento) since 1980, with which he has won a number of important international awards: second prize in 1991 at the Brno competition (Czechoslovakia), second prize in 1993 at the “Flicorno d’Oro” competition in Riva del Garda (Trento) and overall first prize in 1998 at the “La bacchetta d'Oro” competition in Frosinone.
