Antonino Pedone

Clarinet an saxophone player, composer and arranger, he graduated in clarinet from Palermo’s Conservatory in 1982. Baritone sax player and founder member of a number of bands, such as "Orchestra Jazz Siciliana" from Palermo, "I Solisti dell’ O.J.S." and “ Le Nouvel Ensemble Latin Group”. With these bands he performed from 1984 since today, under the leadership of such master conductors as Gil Evans, Francy Boland, Bob Brookmeyer, Carla Bley, Mel Lewis, Bob Wilber, Gunther Schuller, Giorgio Gaslini, Bruno Canfora, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Sam Rivers, Ernie Wilkins, Archie Shepp, Paul Jeffrey, etc. In the last years he obtained the Jazz degree from Palermo’s Conservatory, mostly devoting himself to music arranging and composing. Besides he obtained the master as “Jazz Orchestra Conductor” with G. Schuller and Bill Russo. In recent years he is taking care of educational courses for the Wind band of Salemi and composing for concert band as well.
