Description
Bruncu Salamu is the name of a mountain which characterizes the natural landscape of Dolianova, near Cagliari in Sardinia. This area has many historic monuments, as the ruins of roman baths Sa Cora, the tomb of the Giants in Su Tiriaxiu, the nuragic structures in Sant'Uanni, which fortresses are still covered by trees, the archaeological sites of Mitza Salamu and Sa dom'e s'Ossu, or the nuraghe Sa dom'e s'Orcu, at the top of Bruncu Salamu. The work is characterized by two dominant themes and characters: the first is happy and cantabile, the second is strong and powerful, like a march. The musical form of the piece is the ternary structure A-B-A. This piece was awarded with the 1st Prize in Section B in the ''4th Sinnai International Youth Wind Band Composition Contest'' held in 2012.
