Festa popolare is the fourth and final movement of the Suite siciliana, the celebrated orchestral work composed in 1907 by the Palermo-born composer and conductor Gino Marinuzzi.
The complete suite was first performed in Palermo in 1909 under the composer's direction and published by Casa Ricordi the following year.
The Suite siciliana reflects the early twentieth-century interest in rediscovering national musical traditions through the orchestral treatment of themes inspired by folk music. It comprises four movements portraying scenes and atmospheres of Sicilian life:
1. Leggenda di Natale
2. Canzone dell'emigrante
3. Valzer campestre
4. Festa popolare
