Description
Cleopatra was the last queen of ancient Egypt and, most likely, the most famous because of her relationships with Julius Caesar and Anthony. This March, with its proud and almost military traits, is based on the two great Roman leaders who are evoked in the first and second sections. The Trio, in a minor key and featuring a melody with typical oriental character, honors the Egyptian queen.
