CLARINETWORK

Clarinetwork is a composition for solo clarinet and wind band that can satisfy and entertain both wind bands with a small number of performers and the more structured and complete ones. The composition offers soloists the opportunity to express themselves technically and musically in a piece that turns out to be rewarding and engaging.

The title, consisting of a single compound word, is a play on words with two meanings: the first, Clarinet-Work, "work, opera" for clarinet; the second, Clari-Network, or "network, circuit" for clarinet, in the sense that the musical materials and themes are interconnected with each other and presented with different characters even in different sections, thus creating a "network" of internal relationships.

The composition is in a single movement, seamlessly divided into three sections: Allegro, Adagio, and Joyful. It is characterized by a succession of carefree and effervescent melodies, interspersed with a nostalgic, more intimate and reflective moment. Clarinetwork functions as a metaphor for life, with its happy moments and its dives into the sea of memories, and with an overwhelming final rhythm, imbued with joy and optimism.
