ANUTAKÁ!
Composition awarded Third Prize at the "Winds Composition Contest Saxony - III Edition" in Dresden (DE).
Description
The title "AnutaKà!" is a palindrome of "a Catuna" (Catona, a district of Reggio Calabria), to which the composition is dedicated. The Greek foundations of the city come to life in a decidedly modern context that seemingly no longer belongs to them. Ancient modal scales intertwine with fragments of octatonic scales, creating surprising sonorities born from the composer's deep study and research.
Obsessive rhythmic cells, fluid and open thematic lines, extensive use of percussion, and instrumental color blends are all elements that contribute to maintaining constant tension, creating an adrenaline-filled effect from start to finish.
